CONFIE is a partnership for investments in microfinance initiated by FIE NGO of Bolivia and BlueOrchard Equity Fund of Luxembourg and Mr Vincent Burgi. This partnership links equity funds with microfinance know-how to strengthen local economic development initiatives.
CONFIE was established from the experience of two internationally well-known microfinance institutions: FIE S.A. in Bolivia and FIE Gran Poder S.A. in Argentina.
The challenges microfinance institutions (MFIs) face today in our region require active measures that recover the vision and principles that originated this activity. These principles are based on the need to intensify solutions to eradicate the prevalent poverty in the region, still its most pressing problem.
CONFIE aims to become the region’s catalyst of these principles, seeking to create synergies between MFIs that coincide on principles and objectives, in order to guide the growth of what responsible microfinance truly is. The purpose of CONFIE is to consolidate and strengthen this vision.
